Based on Finnish author Seita Vuorela’s acclaimed novel “Karikko”, winner of the 2013 Nordic Council Children and Young People’s Literature Prize, “The Reef” is a mysterious coming-of-age adventure about siblings Kathi and Mika, who travel with their mother to spend the summer at an old coastal camp. There, they encounter a wild gang of youngsters known as the Wrecks and discover an abandoned hotel hiding secrets of its own. As they venture deeper, the boundaries between past and present, memory and forgetting — and the worlds of the living and the dead — begin to blur.
